How can masking film that has been stored for too long be removed from PLEXIGLAS®?

nach oben

Depending on the state of aging, masking film that has been stored for too long can be removed from PLEXIGLAS® by:

- hot air, e.g. a hairdryer
- by brief exposure to petroleum ether in the pull-off gap between the film and the sheet
- in extreme cases, by prolonged storage in white spirit with a boiling point of 80 to 110
  degrees

Which emission value should be adjusted for contactless measurement of PLEXIGLAS® surface temperatures?

nach oben

The emission value to be adjusted is approx. 0.90 to 0.95.

What is the product benefit offered by the PLEXIGLAS ALLTOP® double-skin sheet?

nach oben

The PLEXIGLAS ALLTOP® SDP 16 double-skin sheet is a light-transmitting, heat-insulating and highly weather-resistant acrylic sheet that, owing to its large web spacing of 64 mm, is mainly used in private, industrial and greenhouse construction wherever an extraordinarily clear view for multi-skin sheets is required, combined with low construction effort and UV transmission.

The UV transmission additionally promotes plant growth and makes for human and animal wellbeing.

Further advantages are the increased light transmission of more than 90 percent (%), practically invisible condensation, no drop formation due to the NO DROP coating that is applied to both sides and inside the cavities, as well as improved energy savings due to greater energy input.

How is PLEXIGLAS® GS manufactured?

nach oben

PLEXIGLAS® GS is manufactured by the cell-casting process. In this, liquid monomer is poured into a cell composed of two sheets of glass that are spaced by a spacer cord than runs around the edge of the cell. The thickness of the spacer cord determines the subsequent sheet thickness. The glass cells filled in this way are then placed horizontally in a rack. Polymerization is then initiated in the oven or water bath. The polymerization time depends on the sheet thickness. Once polymerization is completed, the sheets of glass are separated from the PLEXIGLAS®.

After quality control, the sheets are covered with masking film on both sides to protect them against scratching during transport and subsequent handling.
