PLEXIGLAS® & EUROPLEX® Films
High functionality
PLEXIGLAS® and EUROPLEX® HC Films offer a high level of functionality and are specifically designed to the requirements of specific markets and applications.
We keep improving our products in collaboration with our customers and incorporate new solutions.
PLEXIGLAS® Films
PLEXIGLAS® Films consist of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and contain polybutyl acrylate (PBA) as an impact modifier. The films contain varying degrees of UV absorbers and have the following property profile: weatherproof, UV-absorbent, scratch resistant (pencil hardness to 2 H), completely transparent, easy to form, easy to print (screen, digital, gravure and flexo printing)
EUROPLEX® HC* Films
EUROPLEX® HC Films are PMMA films that are co-extruded with PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride), in which the fluoropolymer is located on the surface. Both polymers are inextricably bonded in the film. The films are transparent and UV protective, with excellent weather resistance and anti-soiling effect. The PVDF layer provides outstanding resistance to chemicals and a stain-resistant surface, which is easy to clean. The PMMA side can be printed with customary color systems and bonds well with a wide range of substrates.
*HC = high chemical resistance
PLEXIGLAS® and EUROPLEX® COC films
We offer bespoke solutions for microfluidics with our PLEXIGLAS® and EUROPLEX® COC films. These are typically used in lab-on-a-chip technologies as a cover film for the chips.
In microfluidic diagnostics, the materials used must meet stringent requirements. Available in different versions, our COC films offer the perfect blend of properties to cater to a wide range of applications:
- Excellent light transmission and brilliance thanks to low inherent absorption
- Biocompatible and easy to sterilize
- High chemical resistance against acids, alkalis and countless solvents
- Excellent resistance to thermal stresses
As a manufacturer of COC films, POLYVANTIS offers a comprehensive range of services, from film extrusion to the meticulous tailoring of custom-sized films to meet customer-specific size requirements.
Our COC films can be applied efficiently to injection-molded parts through ultrasonic welding, laser welding or thermobonding. This helps seal analysis chips quickly, gently and at low temperatures – ideal for sensitive applications.
