PLEXIGLAS® Pools
Diving into a new dimension
For more than 90 years, PLEXIGLAS® has been inspiring people all over the world to create ever new applications. This is also true for the construction of extraordinary swimming pools and bathing landscapes. With the crystal-clear transparency of entire side walls or even the floor, PLEXIGLAS® pools add a spectacular dimension to the swimming experience. And from the outside, too, completely new perspectives are offered: The unobstructed view of the interplay of light and water opens up countless possibilities for setting architecturally impressive accents.
The advantages at a glance
Exceptionally high weathering/UV resistance: We give a 30-year guarantee on the undiminished crystal-clear appearance and high light transmission of PLEXIGLAS® Pools.
High break resistance: Specific test results certify that PLEXIGLAS® has very good values in the relevant areas (stiffness, impact strength, creep resistance, etc.).
Easy to work with: PLEXIGLAS® solid sheets are very scratch-resistant, easy to machine with standard tools and can be bonded invisibly.
Certified production, tested quality
All solid sheets and blocks for the construction of PLEXIGLAS® pools are manufactured by a TÜV-certified manufacturer in a casting process using polymerization. The "pool suitability" of the large-format PLEXIGLAS® GS blocks has been tested and confirmed according to QPA. According to current knowledge, the material does not release any relevant quantities of toxic, carcinogenic, mutagenic, reproductively harmful or similar undesirable substances; even above the softening temperature of 100 °C.
What to consider during installation
The material thickness and the permissible water pressure are determined by static calculations and load tests. On request, we can advise you on thickness determination and pre-dimensioning based on your project-specific information.
The installation accessories and sealing materials must be physically and chemically compatible with PMMA1 glazing. Injectable silicone rubber intended for mechanical loads must be used as a seal.
