Blending flexible design with an outstanding look
EUROPLEX® film for PVC laminates
EUROPLEX® film is a weather-resistant, transparent, co-extruded PMMA and PVDF film for high-quality lamination systems. The film exhibits excellent performance in outdoor applications and shows no discoloration or yellowing, even after prolonged exposure to the elements.
POLYVANTIS presented high-quality PLEXIGLAS® and EUROPLEX® films at the K 2025 trade fair. They are ideal for crafting highly durable and weather-resistant PVC decor for window frames, front doors, and facade panels.
Anyone approaching the POLYVANTIS stand at the K 2025 trade fair was immediately drawn to the facade elements in wood look. It was an unexpected sight at the world’s largest gathering of the plastics industry, and one that caused quite a stir among visitors. What seemed to be wood actually turned out to be an aluminum profile with a PVC laminate in wood look – protected by a top layer of high-quality, transparent EUROPLEX® film. What initially appeared to be solid wood turned out to be a precision aluminum profile, refined with PVC laminate in an authentic wood look. Boasting a brilliant surface finish and excellent feel, a high-quality, transparent EUROPLEX® film was used for the top layer as additional protection.
Durable top layer made from PMMA film protects the decor
Although the solution was entirely plastic-based, the wood-look decor still gave the interior of the trade fair stand a pleasantly warm, natural feel – attributes that are in increasing demand in outdoor applications.
PLEXIGLAS® or EUROPLEX® films protect printed and colored PVC substrates for years.
When used as the facade on a fair stand, the EUROPLEX® film is laminated onto a printed PVC decor film as a protective layer. The solution is based on an aluminum profile with a layer of pigmented PVC. PVC laminates can also be applied to plastics with excellent results, making them ideal for use in front doors, window frames and garage doors.

Versatile designs for front doors, window frames and garage doors
The combination of printed decor and a EUROPLEX® film offers users multiple benefits. Wood-look decors replicate the cozy, natural look of wood, but without the significant effort required to maintain the natural building material. Protected by the special films from POLYYVANTIS, there is also no reason to fear that the PVC laminates might start to appear weathered. The PVC laminates can even be used to create a natural stone look – but with far lighter plastic.
With endless options for printing the PVC substrates, there are virtually no limits to the colors, patterns and design trends possible.
Anthracite-colored PVC laminate is currently trending for front doors and window frames in new builds, especially as a welcome contrast to the frequently white facades. The material delivers excellent protection against the elements and can even be used to clad garden furniture and sheds. In addition, the application presented here at the POLYVANTIS stand at K 2025 shows how the panels help to enliven building facades.
No yellowing or fading of the decor
Aside from the positive look, high-quality PVC laminates with a EUROPLEX® film top layer also offer striking durability. After all, the EUROPLEX® films are highly UV and weather-resistant. The material is tough enough to withstand the sun, wind, and other elements. The material properties of EUROPLEX® film reliably prevent the PVC laminate decor layer from yellowing and fading. Inseparably bonded to the substrate, the protective layer keeps the look of the PVC decor unchanged and colorfast for decades. In addition, the PVDF top layer based on PMMA is exceptionally robust. Yet another advantage: Thanks to the chemical resistance of EUROPLEX® film, PVC laminates are easy and safe to clean with all standard cleaning agents.
POLYVANTIS caters to a wide array of requirements with its high-quality PLEXIGLAS® and EUROPLEX® films. The portfolio contains both glossy and matte surfaces. What is more, PMMA films exhibit high surface hardness and – depending on the variant – contain different quantities of UV absorbers. Some of the films are also built specifically to withstand the rigors of particular climate zones with significant temperature fluctuations or intense sunlight and high humidity. The broad portfolio of lamination solutions builds on the extensive experience that POLYVANTIS has established in the formulation of PMMA films with UV protection.
PVC laminates with PLEXIGLAS® or EUROPLEX® protective film therefore deliver an attractive and highly durable solution for front doors, window frames, and garage doors.
