Clear benefits for interior design
Whether you need a frameless picture or custom printed wall coverings: PLEXIGLAS® Optical HC and HCM accommodate a wide variety of uses for interior design.
How a space is experienced depends largely on the interplay between colors, motifs and surfaces. Materials that blend aesthetics with functionality are becoming increasingly popular in interior design. Here, PLEXIGLAS® Optical HC & HCM open up new ideas for picture glazing and wall claddings: Featuring a scratch-resistant coating on one side, they deliver brilliant transparency and can be printed with large-format prints on the reverse side. Two surface options are available: high-gloss HC and matte HCM.
Frequent cleaning and intensive use can take a toll on interior design materials – be it in galleries, hotels, or living spaces. The scratch-resistant coating enhances toughness, improving the PLEXIGLAS® Optical sheet's resistance to mechanical and chemical stresses. Thanks to these properties, both grades deliver durable solutions for high-performance interior design.
PLEXIGLAS® Optical HC: high-gloss surface
The exceptional transparency and brilliance of PLEXIGLAS® Optical HC render the colors in photographs or prints with perfect color accuracy. The material is equally ideal for use as highly transparent protective glazing for artwork. What’s more, PLEXIGLAS® Optical HC is suitable for producing customized screen-printed or digital prints, such as those used for wall cladding.
PLEXIGLAS® Optical HC enables custom design options and simplifies workflows for bathroom renovations as well: Colored back-printed sheets can be bonded directly onto an existing tile backsplash or installed using profile systems, without needing the laborious process of removing the old tiles beforehand.
It’s high-gloss surface delivers an impressive depth effect that catches the eye when printed with a motif.
PLEXIGLAS® Optical HCM: matte surface
In contrast, PLEXIGLAS® Optical HCM has an evenly matte surface texture. Pleasant to the touch, it creates a consistently smooth, anti-glare surface without any loss of clarity.
The matte texture minimizes unwanted reflection, without impairing the image's clarity or details. Thanks to this property, PLEXIGLAS® Optical HCM is particularly suitable for picture glazing, with its clean, reflection-free appearance.
In addition to the scratch-proof and chemical-resistant coating, its matte surface also reduces the visibility of fingerprint smudging. In turn, this reduces cleaning needs – which is immensely beneficial in spaces open to the public.
