PLEXIGLAS® and EUROPLEX® Films for high-quality PVC laminates
The Solution for Long-Lasting and Resistant PVC Surfaces
PVC decorative laminates are used in a wide range of exterior applications, including window frames, house entrance doors, garage doors, façades, and outdoor furniture. Across these applications, they are continuously exposed to UV radiation, weathering, pollution, and mechanical daily wear throughout their service life. Over time, these influences can lead to color fading, surface degradation, and reduced long-term performance.
PLEXIGLAS® and EUROPLEX® films for PVC laminates are engineered to preserve color brilliance, surface quality, and long-term performance while offering solutions ranging from UV protection and weather resistance to enhanced cleanability and chemical resistance.

Protecting decorative PVC laminates goes beyond appearance
PLEXIGLAS® and EUROPLEX® films are safeguarding both the substrate and the printed décor, helping maintain a premium appearance while providing reliable protection against environmental influences and varying climate conditions. To ensure reliable long-term performance, PLEXIGLAS® and EUROPLEX® films offer a wide range of options to suit different climate zones, durability targets, surface finishes, and other industry requirements.
Our UV protection films are engineered to meet the requirements of RAL-GZ 716 / DIN EN 12608-2 and are available in M20 and M30 grades for different climate conditions worldwide.
PLEXIGLAS® films for PVC laminates are made from polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and are used as cap films for demanding PVC applications. They protect PVC substrates and printed décor, while featuring
- Absolute clarity
- Excellent weather resistance
- A variety of gloss and matte surface finishes
EUROPLEX® Films are coextruded 2-layer films composed of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF). Featuring outstanding transparency and a glossy surface, they provide maximum protection for PVC laminates. Key properties include:
- Outstanding surface brilliance
- Exceptional weather resistance
- Excellent chemical resistance
- Anti-soiling properties
- Anti-graffiti protection and easy-to-clean
- Superior embossability for premium soft-matte finishes and improved haptics

LAMINATING GUIDELINES FOR PLEXIGLAS® AND EUROPLEX® FILMS
In-line heat lamination is the most commonly used method for bonding PLEXIGLAS® and EUROPLEX® films to a wide range of substrates.
When laminating PLEXIGLAS® films to PVC, ABS, or PC films and sheet, the materials are joined through a melt-bonding process, eliminating the need for adhesives or primers.
Recommended lamination temperatures depend on several factors, including the grade of PLEXIGLAS® or EUROPLEX® film used, the composition and thickness of the carrier film or sheet, and the processing speed. For PVC substrates, typical lamination temperatures range from 140°C to 170°C.
EUROPLEX® HC* Films
EUROPLEX® HC Films are PMMA films that are co-extruded with PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride), in which the fluoropolymer is located on the surface. Both polymers are inextricably bonded in the film. The films are transparent and UV protective, with excellent weather resistance and anti-soiling effect. The PVDF layer provides outstanding resistance to chemicals and a stain-resistant surface, which is easy to clean. The PMMA side can be printed with customary color systems and bonds well with a wide range of substrates.
*HC = high chemical resistance
PLEXIGLAS® PMMA and EUROPLEX® COC films
We offer bespoke solutions for microfluidics with our PLEXIGLAS® and EUROPLEX® COC films. These are typically used in lab-on-a-chip technologies as a cover film for the chips.
In microfluidic diagnostics, the materials used must meet stringent requirements. Available in different versions, our COC films offer the perfect blend of properties to cater to a wide range of applications:
- Excellent light transmission and brilliance thanks to low inherent absorption
- Biocompatible and easy to sterilize
- High chemical resistance against acids, alkalis and countless solvents
- Excellent resistance to thermal stresses
